Social work knowledges can promote health and wellbeing by fostering an avenue of empowerment for individuals to take control over their health. Empowerment approaches are relevant in facilitating an avenue where individuals feel they have the ability to maintain good health and overcome structural inequalities within the health care system. This presentation is based on particular social work empowerment approaches which promote health and wellbeing among individuals.
